When I’m not cooking up some bizarre creative idea for a client, you’re bound to find me with a camera covering my face. Am a photography junkie besides being a restless mother to two beautiful daughters. I’m a graphic designer, art director and creative director by profession. I’m passionate about design, music, photography, travel and art. I believe that every moment of the day is an explosive idea worth capturing somewhere, someplace. If you happen to be there then its worthwhile to freeze it forever. Be it a sketch, a photo, a recipe, a painting, a song, a dress….its your unique point of view, a lesson in self exploration. As much as we may want every expression to be liked by as many people who review it, it really doesn’t matter if it’s liked or disliked. For me its thrilling to be sharing this with you.

I live in the chaotic city of Mumbai.  Its noisy, its rude and its downright crazy. On the other hand its pulsating with energy from the hopes, dreams and ambitions of the twenty-one million people who inhabit it. Boy, its crowded out here and how. Traffic snarls, cows, high rises, slums, history, narcotics, the high life and the low life, the politics, the corruption, the anger, the romance…a city of eternal paradoxes. As much as I hate it, I love it. It’s what I call home!

This is my first attempt at blogging and I’m glad I found my space on WordPress. I have so many pictures in my library that have not been able to get out of there. This blog helps me shape all those moments into stories. Hopefully they don’t bore you! All I can say is that it’s a lot of fun for me and feel great about having visitors like yourself, drop by. I want to thank you for spending your precious time reading this, and hope you discover something meaningful here.

I may be a stranger with a very strange name for all of you who stumbled upon this but I live in the hope that my photo essays aren’t. Your response, subscriptions, likes, and ratings will help me understand whats interesting and whats not. And hey! I’m quick to reciprocate on your posts too.

So here’s a big welcome. Have a great day!

I accidentally stumbled upon your blog, but glad to have discovered it. Really liked your street photographs, they’ve an interesting take on them; especially ‘Art takes time squre….’

Hey Shabnam… As a new Spikey, you’ve joined a growing clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70′s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious; email me.

In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again for your vote of confidence, hope you have a great day…

I was so delighted this morning to see you over at my blog, and glad that we are now connected so we can enjoy each other’s photography. I can see you also have a wonderful, creative spirit. I hope one day to get to Mumbai (it’s been on my list for awhile), and when I do, perhaps we can do a photo shoot together as I did recently with a photographer friend in Paris. In the meantime, I will enjoy perusing your beautifully photographed blog and learning about the backstory of the places you see.

  5. Good morning Shabnam, hope all’s well and you’re not too busy because I’ve nominated you to enter the Travel Supermarket’s “Capture the Colours” competition. The challenge is to post one photograph in each of the five colours – blue, green, yellow, red and white – to be judged by a panel of photographers – and there’s even a prize! Entries need to be posted by 29 August.

Visit my post: http://thewanderlustgene.wordpress.com/2012/08/14/the-world-in-five-colours/ for the rules and links.

    Do hope you have time
